Soil amendments correct physical and chemical soil problems that limit crop productivity. Indian soils increasingly suffer from degradation, acidification, salinity buildup and compaction due to intensive farming. The right soil amendment restores structure, improves water retention, corrects pH and enhances microbial activity โ creating the foundation for sustainable, high-yielding agriculture.
Reclaims sodic/saline soils. Provides Calcium and Sulphur. Improves soil structure in black cotton soils. Apply 250โ500 kg/acre.
Improves water and nutrient retention in sandy soils. Reduces leaching of potassium and micronutrients. Apply 50โ100 kg/acre.
Lowers soil pH in alkaline soils. Provides Sulphur nutrition. Controls Karnal bunt and powdery mildew. Apply 4โ8 kg/acre.
Raises soil pH in acidic soils. Provides Calcium and Magnesium. Essential for legume crops in red laterite soils. Apply 100โ200 kg/acre.
Improves CEC, water retention, microbial activity. Chelates micronutrients. Apply 5โ10 kg/acre with basal fertilizers.
Long-term soil carbon addition. Improves porosity, water holding capacity, microbial habitat. One-time application lasts 5โ10 years.
Most crop nutrients are best available at pH 6.0โ7.0. At pH below 5.5, Aluminium and Manganese become toxic. At pH above 7.5, Iron, Zinc, Boron and Phosphorus become locked in the soil. Correcting pH is the single most impactful soil amendment you can make.
