Potassium Humate 85% is derived from leonardite (a naturally oxidized form of lignite) by alkaline extraction, providing 85% humic acid content on a dry basis. Humic acid is one of the most complex organic molecules in nature, formed over millions of years from the decomposition and polymerization of plant and microbial biomass.
The agronomic benefits of humic acid are well-documented: improvement of soil cation exchange capacity (CEC) increases the soil's ability to hold nutrients against leaching; improvement of soil aggregate structure increases water infiltration and aeration; stimulation of soil microbial activity accelerates nutrient cycling; chelation and mobilization of locked mineral nutrients (particularly phosphorus, iron, calcium) makes them plant-available; direct plant growth stimulation through interaction with plant hormone receptors.
